    David B. Nash, MD, MBA is the Founding Dean of the Jefferson School of Population Health where he is the Dr. Raymond C. and Doris N. Grandon Professor of Health Policy. He is a board certified internist and is internationally recognized for his work in outcomes management, medical staff development and quality-of-care. He has authored more than 100 articles in major journals, edited 22 books, and is editor-in-chief of four major national journals.

    Jandel Allen-Davis, MD, is vice president of Government, External Relations and Research for Kaiser Permanente Colorado. She leads the organization's community relations, community benefit investment, communications, advertising and marketing functions, stakeholder engagement, government relations, and clinical research activities. Dr. Allen-Davis is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, serving patients for 25 years. Dr. Allen-Davis is an active participant on community boards including current Board Chair of Denver Botanic Gardens, 2015 Chair for American Heart Association's Go Red for Women Campaign, Denver Foundation Board of Trustees, and serves on the Governor's Education Leadership Council.

    Speaker Bio

    Troyen A. Brennan, M.D., M.P.H., is Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of CVS Caremark. Prior to joining CVS Caremark, Dr. Brennan was Chief Medical Officer of Aetna Inc. From 2000 to 2005, Dr. Brennan served as President and CEO of Brigham and Women's Physician's Organization. In his academic work, he was Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and Professor of Law and Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Brennan received his M.D. and M.P.H. degrees from Yale Medical School and his J.D. degree from Yale Law School. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences.

    Nationally known for her work in the field of accountable care and patient engagement, Dr. Katherine Schneider's mission is to deliver better health, better care, and sustainable cost in the communities that we work in, live in, and serve. She believes passionately that the time has finally come for the business model of healthcare to align with care models that further this mission. As President and CEO, Dr. Schneider provides leadership, strategic direction and ongoing administration and management for all aspects of the Delaware Valley Accountable Care Organization. Previously, Dr. Schneider was Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Medecision. She also served as the senior vice president for Health Engagement at AtlantiCare, where she led the system's strategic transformational work toward accountable care and engaging individuals in their own health.

Jeffrey Brenner, MD
Founder and Executive Director, Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers, 2013 MacArthur Fellow, Camden, NJ

    Speaker Bio

    Jeffrey Brenner, MD, is a family physician who has worked in Camden, NJ since 2000. He holds a bachelor's degree in Biology from Vassar College, and graduated from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed his residency with Swedish Family Medicine in Seattle, WA.

    Brenner owned and operated a solo-practice, urban family medicine office in Camden providing full-spectrum family health services for a Medicaid-enrolled population. Recognizing the need for a new way for hospitals, providers, and community residents to collaborate, he founded the Camden Coalition of Healthcare Providers in 2003, where he has since served as Executive Director.

    Brenner's innovative use of data to identify high-need, high-cost patients in a fragmented system and improve their care was profiled in the 2011 New Yorker article "The Hot-spotters" by writer and surgeon Dr. Atul Gawande, and on PBS Frontline. In 2013 he was honored with the MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship for his work, and in 2014 he was elected to the Institute of Medicine.

    In addition to his role at the Coalition, Brenner is the Medical Director of the Urban Health Institute at Cooper Health System, and serves as a clinical instructor for Cooper Medical School at Rowan University and an adjunct assistant professor for The Dartmouth Institute.

Arthur Lazarus, MD, MBA
Medical Director, Transcend, Ormond Beach, FL

    Speaker Bio

    Dr. Arthur Lazarus is an expert in healthcare management, clinical research, and physician leadership and career development. He is a medical director for Transcend, a management services and population health management company. Dr. Lazarus received his medical and business degrees from Temple University. He is a sought-after presenter, mentor and teacher, and the author of 4 books and more than 200 articles. Dr. Lazarus is one of a handful of physicians in the United States to be inducted into both the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society of collegiate schools of business.

    Stephen A. Martin, Jr., Ph.D., M.P.H., is the President and CEO of the Accreditation Association, the parent organization for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care and Accreditation Association for Hospitals/Health Systems-HFAP. Previously, he served as the Executive Director of the Association for Community Health Improvement, Chief Program Officer for the Health Research & Educational Trust/AHA, and Health Commissioner/COO for the Cook County Department of Public Health. In addition, he serves on the faculty at the Texas A&M University School of Public Health, University of Illinois at Chicago School of Public Health and Chicago State University College of Health Sciences.
Karen Murphy, PhD, RN
Secretary of Health, Pennsylvania Department of Health, Harrisburg, PA

    Speaker Bio

    Dr. Karen Murphy serves as the Pennsylvania Secretary of Health, the state's top health regulator.

    Dr. Murphy has extensive knowledge of the health care industry. She has served in various roles, including Director of the State Innovation Models Initiative, as well as President and CEO of health systems.

    Dr. Murphy earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration from Temple University, a Master of Business Administration from Marywood University, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Scranton, and a diploma as a registered nurse from the Scranton State Hospital School of Nursing.
Rita Numerof, PhD

    Dr. Rita Numerof is President and co-founder of Numerof & Associates, a strategy development and implementation consulting firm. She brings over 25 years of experience working across healthcare - from providers and payers to pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers. An expert in business model transformation, Dr. Numerof specializes in helping delivery organizations with such diverse issues as value-based care and payment models, managing cost and quality variation, population health initiatives, and consumer engagement. Dr. Numerof is widely published in business journals and has authored six books, including Bringing Value to Healthcare: Practical Steps for Getting to a Market-Based Model (2016).
Bill Winkenwerder, Jr, MD, MBA
Chairman, Winkenwerder Strategies, LLC; Former President and Chief Executive Officer, Highmark Inc., Locust Valley, NY

    Speaker Bio

    Dr. Bill Winkenwerder is Chairman and CEO of Winkenwerder Strategies, a healthcare advisory and investment firm. Winkenwerder is one of the most influential and recognized leaders in American health care, with experience in medical care, healthcare finance, and health insurance operations. Dr. Winkenwerder is also an expert on federal health policy and programs, and new technologies such as electronic health records.

    Most recently Dr. Winkenwerder served as Chief Executive Officer of Highmark Health, a Pennsylvania based diversified insurance and health care enterprise. There he led a transformation to create the third largest integrated health care delivery and financing network in the nation.

    From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Winkenwerder served as Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs.

    Bill Winkenwerder is unique national health care leader, an experienced executive and financial strategist, who deeply understands both the private and public health sectors, and the power of new innovative technologies to transform the industry.
